Frontier Worker Permit – Overview The Frontier Worker Permit is for EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens who were regularly working in the UK before 31 December 2020 but live primarily outside the UK. It allows eligible individuals to continue entering the UK to work without needing a visa under the post-Brexit immigration system.
Who Is It For? You can apply for a Frontier Worker Permit if:
You’re from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein
You live outside the UK (but travel to the UK for work)
You started working in the UK before 31 December 2020
You have continued working in the UK at least once every 12 months since that date
You can also qualify if you’ve been unable to work temporarily due to illness, accident, childbirth, or other valid reasons.

What the Permit Allows With a Frontier Worker Permit, you can:
Enter the UK for work
Work, rent, and access healthcare (subject to certain restrictions)
Travel in and out of the UK as needed

Note: It does not lead to settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain).
Validity and Renewal Permits are typically valid for 5 years (or 2 years for retained workers)
