The Global Talent visa is designed for individuals who are leaders or potential leaders in fields such as:

• Academia or Research
• Arts and Culture
• Digital Technology

It allows talented individuals to live and work in the UK without needing a job offer and offers a fast track to settlement depending on your level of recognition.

• No job offer required – You can work for any employer, be self-employed, or start your own business.
• Flexible work rights – You can switch jobs or employers without permission.
• Fast-track settlement – Settle after 3 years if endorsed as a leader (exceptional talent) or after 5 years if endorsed as a promise (emerging leader).
• Bring dependents – Partner and children can join or remain with you.
• Pathway to citizenship – After holding ILR for 1 year, you can apply for British citizenship.

🧾 Eligibility & Process:
There are two stages:

1. Endorsement Application
You must apply to be endorsed by a relevant endorsing body in one of three fields:

• Academia & Research – e.g. British Academy, Royal Society
• Arts & Culture – e.g. Arts Council England
• Digital Technology – e.g. Tech Nation* (note: Tech Nation closed in 2023; new endorsing body to be confirmed depending on field)
• You must be able to show:
• Exceptional Talent – proven leader in your field
• Exceptional Promise – potential leader with strong achievements
• Endorsement is not needed if you’ve won an eligible international prize, like a Nobel Prize, Academy Award, or a recognized tech award.

2. Visa Application
Once endorsed, you apply to UKVI for the visa. No additional points-based test is required.

💼 Work & Study Rights:
You can:

• Work in any job, including self-employment
• Start your own business
• Study
• Switch jobs freely
• Travel in and out of the UK
• Apply for ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain)

You cannot:

• Access public funds
• Work as a sportsperson or sports coach

📅 Visa Duration:

• You can choose visa length up to 5 years
• Extendable
• Path to settlement after 3 or 5 years, depending on endorsement type
