Administrative Review – Overview
An Administrative Review allows you to challenge a refusal or an incorrect decision made on your UK visa or immigration application without going to court.

It is a formal process where the Home Office reviews its own decision to check for caseworker errors.

When Can You Request an Administrative Review?
You can apply for an Administrative Review if:

  • Your visa or immigration application has been refused, OR
  • You believe there was a casework error (e.g., incorrect evidence assessment, incorrect law applied)

Common eligible decisions:

  • Points-Based System (e.g., Skilled Worker, Student visas)
  • Leave to remain under certain routes
  • Entry clearance refusals where Administrative Review is offered instead of an appeal
